Course types
Basic Obedience
Our basic obedience course is designed to help dogs learn foundational safety, socialization, and, well, obedience skills! Throughout this course, you and your pup will develop a deeper sense of trust and communication than is possible without training! A typical basic skills course will cover the following topics*: Sit, Coming when called, Lay down, Focus, Wait, Door and Leash behavior, and Socialization. *We can provide guidance through potty and/or crate training as needed.
Service Task Training
Our service animal program is designed to teach your companion how to help you with difficult activities, while also teaching you - the handler - how to advocate for yourself and your service animal within local law. This course is for those who have a legitimate need for an assistance animal. An assessment will be held to determine what tasks would help mitigate handler's disability. Dogs will complete extensive obedience, socialization, public behavior, desensitization, and task training before they may graduate into an active service role.
Full Agility Course
Our agility course is designed to enrich your pet’s mind and body through fun, engaging lessons! This is the perfect class for working breeds needing a hobby or as gentle preperation for future agility trials! The following equipment will be supplied and taught (individually and together): -Standard jumps -Tire/Hoop jumps -Pause boxes -Open tunnels -Closed tunnels (chutes) -Weave poles The final exam for this course is our Puppy Olympics event! Event-specific information, rules, and procedures will be sent out as we get closer to each event. As an agility student, you earn two free trials to graduate or earn awards! A private graduation can be held as an alternative. Owners can keep all of their equipment after their pup graduates, or they can choose to return their agility equipment for partial reimbursement. This only applies to equipment that is agreed to be in good condition upon return. Dogs do not need to have completed our Basic Obedience course to participate, but we do require that they demonstrate adequate ability to obey the following commands to ensure lessons and graduation go smoothly: Sit, recall / coming when called, and wait (and/or a place command).
Behavior Modification
These lessons are geared towards modifying unwanted behaviors or managing conditions, such as: Barking, Jumping, Digging, Biting/nipping*, anxiety, reactivity, fear periods, and dog or human aggression. (not an all-inclusive list) *If your dog has a bite history (documented or not), we can still assist you. We can only give you the very best guidance and training for your dog if you are transparent with us, though. We aren't here to condemn or judge, we are here to help.
Socialization
Teach your pet how to make good decisions when interacting with other people and dogs. This topic's structure is looser than our courses. Socialization lessons will be based on each dog's unique needs. You will learn about body language from other dogs so you may identify it properly in the future. It's important that you can identify behavior and advocate for your dog in a timely manner!
Firework Desensitization
- - Seasonal - - Help your pet overcome their fear of fireworks! This course is taught at the end of June, and leads into the 4th of July! This will be the only event that we accept walk-up clients for!
